Ceremonies - Vancouver Unitarians
About Unitarians and Lay Chaplains
Unitarians honour beliefs from many traditions, allowing us to be open in our spiritual journeys. We are guided by our seven principles and enriched by the teachings of many modern and ancient cultures and faith groups.
Unitarian lay chaplains have been providing meaningful rites of passage across Canada since 1970. We bring experience, skill, compassion and creativity to the hundreds of weddings and other ceremonies performed every year.
Meet Our Lay Chaplains
If you seek the ambiance of a bright, beautiful, uplifting space, we recommend our sanctuary, which accommodates 250 people and has full sound equipment. On your behalf, we can arrange for musicians and other requests to enrich the ceremony.
For smaller groups, we also have more intimate settings, such as the Fireside Room.
A lay chaplain of the Unitarian Church of Vancouver would be honoured to officiate at your wedding. We will partner with you to create a joyful, transformative and memorable experience. As Unitarians, we are experts at integrating diverse traditions into ceremonies. We combine our experience and time honoured resources with creative input that expresses your values and uniqueness.
Your wedding means more to you than a legal ceremony. We will work together to bring alive the essence, spirit and beauty of this special life event.
From casual small gatherings on the beach, to formal social events in grand halls, our lay chaplains are happy to perform your ceremony at the location of your choice.
Same-sex couples, traditional couples, different faiths, secular, second marriages, couples with children, senior citizens… all are welcome!
Phone the church office at 604.261.7204 or send an email to: [email protected] to inquire or book your wedding. A lay chaplain will be contacted immediately to serve you.
Our costs are competitive. Please call for a quote with no obligation.
We look forward to hearing from you!
