Hearts Full of Love: A Nativity Story

This playful and interactive Christmas pageant tells the Nativity story in a way that plays on our Unitarian Universalist principles. From the mystery and wonder of a super nova to the magical feeling of joy inspired by a heart full of love.
Our play this year is by Norman Allen, playwright and UU Minister.

Candlelight Service

A UCV tradition: worship, the spoken word, seasonal carols and music, featuring the Chalice Choir, honouring the festivals of December and the beginning of the new year. All are invited.

Abundance and Thanksgiving

This all-congregation Thanksgiving Sunday celebrates abundance, the having enough, and more, of good things in our lives. Abundance doesn’t mean everything’s perfect. It’s more a recognition that, to quote Wendell Berry, “what we need is here.” It means gratitude for abundance in our world, our community, from family to friends to a congregation, as well as abundance in justice making.

Spring Awakening A whole congregation worship service

The seasons continue cycling through the year. We stand at the mid-point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Many cultures celebrate this occasion by saying farewell to winter and welcoming spring. We’ll be doing it too, drawing on Jewish, pagan and Japanese sources.
Expect stories about trees, fish and incantations driving out demons and welcoming in happiness.
