Ceremony is a powerful force to make sacred the thresholds we move through during our lives. In this service, the Lay Chaplaincy Team will connect you with its power. Our Lay Chaplains will share stories and insights from the weddings, memorials, infant dedications and other ceremonies they officiate for community members looking for meaningful rights of passage at times of life transitions.

Laureen Stokes has worked for 10 years as a technologist and project manager in a building science engineering firm, working with condominium owners to diagnose and plan repairs to their buildings, and to prepare financial plans for renewing aging buildings. She currently works in social housing for the YWCA as a building asset manager, looking after the homes of women and children.
