Joy Coghill (1926-2017)

Vancouver performing arts legend Joy Coghill passed away at the age of 90 on January 21, 2017. An admired and beloved actor, director, and producer, Joy’s career spanned seven decades and saw her performing in theatres across the country, as well as founding inspirational theatre companies for children and seniors. In retirement, she worked to bring to life the Performing Arts Lodge in Vancouver, a social housing project to provide affordable housing to aging people in the performing arts community.

We send our deepest sympathies to Rev. Debra Thorne, Beacon Unitarian Church, and Casey Stainsby, CanUUdle Coordinator, on the loss of your mother and grandmother. Read more about Joy’s life and career from the Vancouver Sun.
