Geraldine Margaret Deefholts (née Penn-Anthony), known as Margaret, was born in India, a country she loved and eventually wrote two books about.
In 1969, she married Leon Deefholts, and soon they had two children, Glenn and Susan. When the family moved to Canada in 1977, Margaret worked as a secretary, an administrative assistant and, for twenty-seven years, as a travel writer.
Deeply caring, she was also vivacious, fun-loving and adventurous, wrote many travel articles, and was published in magazines and newspapers across Canada.
Margaret loved classical music and played the piano beautifully. She co-edited three books on Anglo-Indians and was a strong presence in the local and global Anglo-Indian community.
Margaret was a great spirit, wonderful person, lovely soul and beautiful human being. She was much-loved by friends and family around the world. We were blessed by her presence in our lives.
