Lunch and CUC – Canadian Unitarian Council AGM Resolutions

Sun, Mar 5, 2023 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Location
Fireside Room

Are you curious about our Unitarian national organization and what it does?

Many UCVers over the years have been highly involved with the “CUC” (Canadian Unitarian Council) from our Minister Emeritus Rev. Phillip Hewett, one of the two co-founders back in 1961 to Keith Wilkinson, Mary Bennett, Leslie Kemp and Lynn Armstrong currently in the 21st century. Come and hear from your Denominational Affairs committee including the above 4 and, more importantly, discuss with other UCV members what’s coming to this year’s CUC Annual General Meeting.

For part of the time, people will sit in groups to look at 3 of the resolutions coming this year with a facilitator to respond to questions and summarize the discussions.

You’ll also “pilot” a congregational survey that will be sent to all members early next week asking for feedback so that we can compile a report for our board and send to the CUC for consideration. The deadline for completing the survey will be March 15th so we can compile and share with the board in advance of their March 21st meeting.

All going well, we’ll be just in time to send to the CUC by their deadline of midnight Tuesday.

In the spirit of transparency and trust building, the committee will share with the congregation the compilation. Entries will be anonymous.

We’ll set up for sharing lunch in the Fireside Room. Bring your own lunch or something to contribute for sharing.

The Board Forum of Sunday February 19th is posted on our youtube channel. (See link below)

If you’re considering applying to be a CUC delegate, this forum from 2022 will be of interest:
