Qmunity Information Table

Qmunity will have an information table in the Hall 12-12:30 and then in the Fireside Room during the forum.

Over 20 years ago, we were the second Unitarian congregation in Canada to certify as an officially “Welcoming Congregation” by completing the curriculum and other actions put out by the Unitarian Universalist Association. Now both the UUA and Canadian Unitarian Council (CUC) recommend recertifying every five years.

Our newly formed Genders and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) is planning to offer programs and recommendations over the coming year (2019) that would be the basis for recertifying. At this forum, chair Mary Bennett, will explain the program and receive your questions and suggestions for how best to proceed.

Please come with your suggestions and support. We will have some resources from Qmunity and Pride/Trans products from the Flag Shop available.

To learn more about the Welcoming Congregation program, just click the logo in the top right of our website at vancouverunitarians.ca  or go to http://vancouverunitarians.ca/about-us/sogi/

Forums are offered most Sundays from 12:30-1:30 pm (Unless otherwise posted) from September to June.

Details when available are posted on the web.

Mary Bennett is chair of this group and coordinating the Forum. Mary was Executive Director of the Canadian Unitarian Council from 2000-2008 and counts as her proudest moment presenting with Rev. Fred Cappuccino in favour of equal marriage at the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. All of the UU ministers in Canada had declared themselves in favour of equal marriage.
