Board Room (Biddle)
The UCV Second Sunday Book Group meets next on February 11th to discuss Fall Down 7 Times Get Up 8. Author Naoki Higashida is, by any measure, a phenomenally successful author. He is also profoundly autistic. His observations are moving and thought-provoking:
—- “I’d like people to stop pressuring children to make friends … having no friends is nothing to be ashamed of. Let’s all follow and be true to our singular path through life.” —-
—- “Those who are determined to live with us and not give up on us are deeply compassionate people, and this kind of compassion must be a key to humanity’s long-term survival.” —-
We meet in Biddle from 12:30 – 2 pm and all are welcome. Facilitator: Rob Dainow 604-523–0123.
For questions about the book group in general, contact Rob Dainow.
This group discusses a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books – all suggested by group members who facilitate publicity and the group discussion. Check weekly announcements and UCV Events publication for upcoming books.
The group meets on the second Sunday each month except for July, August and December.
All are welcome.
