Annual Apple Wassail in the Garden

Here are photos from the 2019 Annual Apple Wassail.

We expect to wassail the apple trees again in 2020 on the last Sunday in January. (It seems to work!)

We join the children in the garden (north west area of property–near Oak Street and parking lot) immediately following the service for hot apple cider, singing, and calling the apple trees to awaken as spring approaches!

We have 14 apple trees on the North West side of the property. They were planted to celebrate our 100th anniversary.

Our apple tree varieties are (clockwise from North West)
Honey Crisp, Scarlet Sentinel, King, Florina,
Yellow Transparent, Summerland Red Macintosh, Ambrosia,
Gravenstein, Cox Orange Pippin, Liberty, Sunrise,
Golden Sentinel, Shamrock and Jonafree.
It sounds like a poem, don’t you think?
