Action Evenings: What’s This About Tree Sitters?

Wed, Sep 9, 2020 6:45 pm - 8:00 pm

Via Zoom, we’ll see and hear 3 tree sitters high above the Brunette River in
their own videos, followed by Q and A with a knowledgeable panel.

We’ll also see the trailer for the prize winning film The Return, by Marina Dodis,
documenting the restoration of the Brunette River, one of the few salmon bearing waterways in Metro Vancouver. Marina will be present as a
panel member.

The tree sitters: Dr. Tim Takaro is a physician-scientist, Professor and
Associate Dean Research, Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser
University. Kurtis Baute, BA, BSc uses his popular YouTube channel to
increase science literacy and help address global challenges. Dr. Christine
Thuring, BSc, MSc, PhD is an instructor at BCIT’s Centre for Architectural
Ecology. Her current research is green roofs.

To join this meeting, please sign into zoom by visiting ucv.im/action-evenings starting at 6:45pm on Wednesday September 9th! The event begins promptly at 7pm and goes until 8pm.
All Are Welcome!
