Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA) wants to build Robert’s Bank Terminal 2 in one of the top Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in all of North America. An Environmental Assessment by Federal Review Panel was completed in March 2020. Guest Speaker Roger Emsley will take us through this assessment process and demonstrate the findings.

Roberts Bank is home to globally significant populations of birds, salmon and other wildlife. The project poses unacceptable environmental risks for no economic benefit for Canada. Let’s learn what we can do about this expansion project!

Guest Speaker:

Roger Emsley formed the Against Port Expansion Community Group in 2004 with members of the Boundary Bay Conservation Committee. Later he assumed the role of Executive Director and has held that position ever since.  He has followed port related developments for many years and has written numerous reports on the Terminal 2 development. Roger is the BC Nature special representative for Roberts Bank and is an active participant in the environmental assessment for Terminal 2. He remains confident that this project can be stopped.
