Action Evenings presents

Evolving Pathways of Nonviolence

Guest speaker: Jan Slakov

Jan is honoured to help the Unitarian Church of Vancouver celebrate the International Day of Peace. She’s a long time peace activist and currently a member of the board of Conscience Canada https://www.consciencecanada.ca/.

Wednesday, September 23, 7:00-8:00pm. Please arrive early in order to be admitted through the waiting room.

Jan’s presentation will focus on some of her inspirations for peace action and how our paths to peace evolve as we travel through life. Examples include young members of the anti-Nazi resistance, in particular Jaques Lusseyran – see: https://commonground.ca/lit-from-within/, former WILPF president Bruna Nota, http://peacemagazine.org/archive/searchauthor.php?q=Bruna%20Nota&Submit=Search and the author of Canada: The Case For Staying Out of Other People’s Wars, Bill Geimer: https://worldbeyondwar.org/volunteer-spotlight-bill-geimer/Jan is eager to hear others’ stories of peace-building, what we learn from our efforts to build a more peaceful world.
