Hello [subscriber:firstname | default:Friend]
|
Here's some music appropriate for these times.
|
Keith and I were both struck by this song when we were introduced to Mamuse at the Closing Worship of UK Unitarians.
|
We shall be known by the company we keep By the ones who circle round to tend these fires We shall be known by the ones who sow and reap The seeds of change, alive from deep within the earth It is time now, it is time now that we thrive It is time we lead ourselves into the well It is time now, and what a time to be alive In this Great Turning we shall learn to lead in love

We encourage you to sing, applaud, drum or bang pots at 7 pm and join in at 7:30 pm. Erin Moulding will be on at 7:15. If you'd like an intro to zoom practice, sign in early and Erin will give you assistance.

After people sign on, we'll have a whole group introduction and then break into neighbourhood groups where someone from your neighbourhood will facilitate a discussion often using the Quarantine Questions.
Each smaller group will have 3 to 6 participants.

“What if we took a virtual walk,” I asked? After all when you go for a walk you are side-by-side, not actually looking at each other.
|
It works like this: each of us walks in our own neighbourhood and we chat by phone as we walk. We have wonderful ranging conversations like we used to have when we saw each other. She also describes the experience she’s seeing: “I’ve made it to the beach now and the water is utterly beautiful today, like glass.” I describe the cherry trees coming into bloom and two lone dandelions that I would never notice in summer but look beautiful when there are no other flowers on a lawn.

Many UCV'ers are concerned about privacy and security of information right now. Did you know we have PIPA officers? To find out what PIPA is and who to contact click https://safenote.co/r/5e91f46cd4dd05@11333110 Christian (one of our techie support folk) recommends https://safenote.co/ if you need to send someone confidential information such as a password or private zoom link. This Sunday, given the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Jo-Anne has suggested we use the time to talk, read/listen to poetry and ask reflective questions, rather than discuss a book selection. She has invited us to bring our favourite poems by women (preferably Canadian women) about spring, hope, liberation or other themes that may hearten us as we go through this difficult time. Sounds very nurturing and sustaining to me! So I am all in, and it would be very nice to see a few more local faces as well! from Debra Sutherland

Emily Carr’s extraordinary story and art make for a fine way to celebrate the themes of Easter. We’re going to try a grand experiment: pre-recording scenes of the pageant acted by UCV congregants and families from different locations and then stitching them together with original music and Carr’s glorious artwork. Join us for this home-made Easter celebration.
