Call for Volunteers

Do you enjoy visiting other UCV members?

volunteers

A number of UCV members are house-bound, in care homes, or in hospital. If you are interested in volunteering some time to drop in for a visit with fellow members of the congregation, please email Diane Donaldson, UCV Services Committee.

Your Library Needs You!

The UCV Library Committee is a wonderful group dedicated to the Library, the Literature Stall and our three annual church fundraiser Book Bashes. We meet monthly and work weekly, taking turns to keep the Library and Literature Stall stocked and well-run, and plan for our great book sales.

We are a cheerful group that enjoys good conversation, tasty food, friendship and a commitment to Library goals. Our numbers are few, but our enthusiasms are limitless!

If you are you a booklover who might enjoy greeting and serving fellow Unitarians in the Library or at the Literature Stall on Sundays, please contact us. Qualifications? Joy in working with others and a love of books. Other skills such as computer literacy and library cataloguing and processing would be helpful.

Our Library offers a great service in our community and has been around for decades. Come into the Library to talk with us.

The UCV Human Resources Committee is looking for new members with interest and experience in this field including someone to assume the role of HR Chair sometime in the new year.

Members serve as liaisons to staff, assist with performance reviews and hiring interviews, and advise the board on HR policy, including compensation. Service on the HR committee could be valuable on your resume if you’re looking for a management or HR role in your career. Good problem-solving, analytical and communications skills are needed. Previous successful experience in HR would be of great value to the church.

Please contact Keith Wilkinson keithwilkinsonconsulting@gmail.com or text 604-838-5643 for more information.

Opportunity to join Sunday Morning Greeters (also known as Ushers)

We are looking for volunteers who have two and a half hours once a month to contribute to welcoming both visitors and members of the congregation to a Sunday morning worship service.

This is a pleasant way to meet other people and to take a role in the life of our community.

You will not have to attend meetings but will join an experienced team of greeters on the Sunday of your choice, including the occasional fifth Sunday. No experience necessary – on the job training is provided.
