Forum: Theatre Games and Improvisation with Diane Brown

Sun, Jan 27, 2019 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Location
Fireside Room

Theatre can be a powerful tool for community-building, for inspiring humanity and compassion, for provoking independent critical thought, for igniting action.
Doing theatre is one of my ways of taking action that gives rise to hope.
I am offering an interactive forum of simple, introductory theatre games and improvisation. Those who come to the forum will be on their feet acting, this is not a lecture with a power point presentation.
Games will be suitable for kids and adults. They may include crazy vocalizations, goofy physical movement, singing, dancing, and general silliness. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing, and bring your imagination.

Diane Brown is an acclaimed actor, director, producer and is the long-time Artistic Director of Vancouver’s own Ruby Slippers Theatre, one of the most celebrated theatre companies in the city. In addition to her work with RST, Diane has taught improvisation and acting to teenagers and adults. She studied theatre at SFU and got her Masters Degree in Directing from UBC.
