Let Peace be Their Memorial

Please join the Social Justice Committee at a Remembrance Day ceremony that commemorates the loss of civilians who now make up 90% of conflict victims.

This year our keynote speaker is Tima Kurdi of the Kurdi Foundation .  A Syrian-born resident of Coquitlam, she has been speaking around the world of the plight of Syrian and other refugees.  Her book “The Boy on the Beach” is a heartwarming and heartrending story about impossible choices forced on a happy ordinary family.

Sachi Komura Rummel will again this year lay a wreath in memory of the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  Her memoir Hiroshima – Memories of a Survivor is available from Amazon.ca
