Space for Feminism:
Tales of Resistance and Persistence from the Vancouver Women’s Library
The Vancouver Women’s Library is a 100% volunteer powered free lending library and community resource network and space. With a view to increasing intercultural and intergenerational respect, dialogue, and friendship, the membership at this little library has grown to over 500 in just one year. Having just past their first anniversary in their physical location at 1255 Kingsway, volunteers of VWL will speak on the highs and lows of organizing in and from a space that is specified for women and girls, by women and girls. And discuss some of their goals and dreams for the future of the Women’s Library with a view to hearing input from the audience for what they would like to see as well.
Forums are offered 12:30-1:30 pm (Unless otherwise posted) from September to June.
Details when available are posted on the web.
Mary Bennett coordinates a forum usually on the 4th Sunday of the month related to arts and culture especially as it relates to Unitarian principles and values.
