Sacred Circle Dance - Going Deeper - a workshop for experienced dancers
Sun, Apr 29, 2018 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Fireside Room and Hall
Celebrate International Dance Day with us
This event is for experienced circle dancers who want to go deeper with sacred circle dance.
Encouragement and support from experienced facilitators will help you choose a dance (or let it choose you) as your own and share it with others. Those who already facilitate some dances, can bring a new one you’d like to practice sharing with others.
Note: This was originally going to go right through to 9 pm with a potluck dinner. We’ve condensed the program.
2 – 2:30 pm Panel – How and Why to Facilitate Dances
Panel of dance facilitators sharing their views on why and how to start facilitating circle dance.
Panel includes Corinne Chepil, Mary Bennett, Mairy Beam, Frances Schofield, Darlene Rainbow, Mary Bennett and others
2:30 – 3 pm Hall – Learning to Facilitate Your Dance
A coaching session for those who are stepping up to choose a dance to share with others. We’ll help new facilitators learn the dance well and get support on ways to effectively teach it to others. A new facilitator will be paired with an experienced one to work through the dance in small groups.
3 – 4 pm Dancing Together
We’ll come together and dance all of the dances – perhaps more than once as time permits.
4 – 5 pm Challenging Dances
Mairy Beam is weaving a selection of more challenging dances.
Please contact her if you’d like to share a dance.
